Sir Ed Davey, who is also the leader of the Lib Dems, spent a day in each area last month.
He met families of the Israeli hostages as well as Palestinians with families in war-torn Gaza.
Sir Ed is continuing to call for a bilateral ceasefire.
The United Nations Security Council passed a resolution yesterday that demands a ceasefire in Gaza for the rest of Ramadan.
