Thomas Thorpe, was attached to the South Area Command Unit, which serves Croydon, Sutton and Bromley.
He’d engaged in online conversations with a person he believed was a 12-year-old girl but was actually an undercover officer.
Thorpe sent sexually explicit images to the ‘girl’ over four-week period in November and December 2019.
He’s been remanded in custody until sentencing in May.
