Tradespeople are being warned by Surrey Police to protect their tools from thieves targeting vans and vehicles.

Officers say tool thefts are happening in car parks, on driveways, near homes and building sites.

Businesses are being urged to remove tools where possible, keep valuables out of sight and record serial numbers.

Police say marking tools and keeping proof of purchase can help if stolen items are later recovered.
