Spelthorne Borough Council says is wants to hear from residents who think unauthorised works may be taking place near their homes.

The authority says there has been a recent spate of small green spaces being bought up by companies or individuals for redevelopment.

However, they “almost always” turn out to be pieces of land which are designated public highway.

The council says that although it cannot prevent land sales from taking place, it can look to enforcing restrictions.
