Residents are branding The All England Tennis Club’s revised plans for Wimbledon Park “an insult”.
The plan for redevelopment of the former golf course includes 39 additional tennis courts and an 8,000-seater stadium.
The club says it is now offering up four more acres of public parkland to make a total of 27 acres.
But Save Wimbledon Park campaign group says the changes are “minor” in the midst of climate crisis.
Merton Council agreed to the original proposal but it was rejected by Wandsworth Council.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, put off a decision on the plans until after the Mayoral elections.
Another public meeting will take place next Wednesday from 8.30pm at Wimbledon Park Hall.
