Kingston Council says it is continuing to provide emergency accommodation for people affected by a house fire.

The blaze in Mount Pleasant Road in New Malden on Saturday was caused by a “catastrophic failure” of a lithium-ion e-bike battery pack.

Another fire at the same property last August was caused by a fault with a solar panel.

Kingston Council says two direct neighbouring properties were damaged as well as the house that caught fire.
