Arrangements for the event, which saw CPFC players travel by open-top bus down Whitehorse Lane, were arranged by the Club working with the Council, Police, London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade and others to organise and make sure everyone was kept safe.
The Parade on Bank Holiday Monday went without a hitch but we’re told a number of vehicles also had to be removed from the route.
The team was celebrating winning the first major trophy in their history, following their 1-0 win over Manchester City at Wembley.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon:
“It was amazing seeing the FA Cup being paraded in Croydon, a sight many of us Crystal Palace fans never thought would happen.
“Events like this require a lot of planning with many people behind the scenes working long hours to make sure it was such a memorable day.
“Thank you to all the Council officers, Veolia, emergency services and all other partners who helped make this dream come true.”
