The authority announced on Monday that it wants to increase council tax by 4.99%.
50% of a Band D bill already goes towards adult and children’s social care in the borough and this would be an extra £1.40 per week.
However, this excludes the Greater London Authority contribution.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has already stated he wants to increase by £18.98 for a Band D property.
Hounslow Council is also to spend £3.2 million on tackling homelessness and £2 million on modernising services.
The authority’s leader, Santanu Rajawat, says “years of chronic underfunding” means it must keen an iron grip on finances.
