Donations will support charities helping young children develop confidence, communication skills and wellbeing.

Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of the Council and Trustee of the Richmond Voluntary Fund, said:

“We are grateful for the generosity of Richmond residents. Every donation, large or small, will be directed to three outstanding local charities that bring generations together, stand alongside families when they need support, and give children with disabilities the chance to thrive through music.

“We have already raised more than £30,000, but there is still time to build on this strong start. Please join us in helping these charities continue their life-changing work across our borough.”

The Richmond Voluntary Fund gives residents the opportunity to support voluntary and community organisations delivering vital services across the borough.

This year, the fund is supporting three charities whose work brings people together and helps children and families thrive.

Donations will enable nursery children to form rewarding connections with older adults, give families personalised one-to-one support when they need it most, and provide music therapy for children with disabilities.

The chosen charities are Brighter Together, Home-Start Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow, and The Otakar Kraus Music Trust.
