The RSPCA has launched a special appeal to find the person who can fit the bill.
Animal rescue officers are frontline workers who respond to reports of cruelty, neglect and injury and also deal with complaints.
There are currently 179 across England and Wales and they have responded to more than 247,000 incidents so far this year.
