Former British number one Dan Evans will not have a fairytale ending to his singles tennis career at Wimbledon.

He’s been beaten in the second qualifying round by Tristan Schoolkate 7-5 6-love.

There was some criticism of the decision not to award the veteran a wildcard for the main draw in his final singles tournament.

But, he will still be there for the men’s doubles with fellow Brit Henry Searle.
