The council says it’s to test the viability of using alternative products which are kinder to flora and fauna.
The trial will use weed killers that are glyphosate-free and made from naturally-occurring compounds to test their effectiveness.
It will start this month in Wandle ward, which has been chosen because of its smaller size to help with faster application.
