The restaurant has announced plans to build on the former Loch Fyne restaurant site on Portsmouth Road.
But the council says it hasn’t received a planning application from McDonald’s and if it does, it will consult with residents.
People are being encouraged to address concerns directly to McDonald’s via its website and sign up for council planning alerts
