Dog walkers in Richmond and Bushy Parks are once again being told to keep their pets on leads at all times.

Visitors are being reminded deer birthing season has now begun.

Mothers will hide their babies in bracken and long grass to conceal them from dogs and other perceived predators.

Deer are instinctively frightened of dogs, but The Royal Parks says they will overcome this fear if they believe their young are at risk.

Deer can run at speeds of 30mph.
