Devon and Cornwall’s police and crime commissioner is defending her force after counter-terror officers took over the Ann Widdecombe murder investigation.

There’s been criticism over the initial handling of the inquiry and how the force communicated during those early stages.

But Alison Hernandez says it’s not unusual for information to come to light which changes the nature or character of what police are dealing with.
