Croydon Council is naming and shaming Blue Badge fraudsters following 45 convictions in the last year alone.

The permits allow people with severe mobility issues to park closer to their destination and sometimes park for free.

The crackdown by Croydon has also resulted in the seizure of 136 badges and led to 42 vehicles being towed in the last 12 months.

Those convicted of Blue Badge fraud receive a criminal record and can be fined up to £1,000.

The Council says it is clear that misusing Blue Badges, whether stolen, counterfeit, cancelled, or belonging to a deceased person, is a criminal offence that will not be tolerated.
