Alison Hammond is to take over presenting the TV show “For the Love of Dogs.”

The series follows the lives of the animals taken to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The charity’s ambassador, Paul O’Grady, was still hosting the series when he suddenly died last March.

This Morning star Alison will start filming the new six-part series soon.

Battersea says:

We are so grateful that this new series gives us the opportunity to continue to show the journeys of our rescue animals, with all their quirky & heartwarming stories that we know you treasure as much as us. With Alison already rolling up her sleeves, ready to bring to life our work and discover more about rescue, we can’t wait to bring back the show you love.

With this great news, comes a chance for us all to reflect on the fact that @officialfortheloveofdogs would not exist had it not been for the dedication and work of our beloved Ambassador Paul O’Grady. It’s an absolute honour for us, and for Alison, to be carrying on his work and legacy.
