31 year old Charles Hillman has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison.
The court heard how he acted as if he ‘owned’ the victim, restricted her access to her phone, bank cars, keys and food.
He was also previously convicted of one count of non-fatal strangulation and two counts of actual bodily harm.
