A grass fire’s damaged around half a hectare of a field in Mitcham, the third in the area this month.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze near Carshalton Road.

Crews from Mitcham, Norbury, Wallington and Croydon fire stations were called to the scene just after 8 o’clock last night.

The fire was extinguished by 9.39pm and no injuries have been reported.
