It’s after a number of people in New Malden claim their food caddies weren’t picked up even though their neighbours’ ones were collected.

A spokesperson for Veolia says collection rounds have been adapted to make sure they are as energy efficient as possible.

The company has apologised for any issues and is urging people still experiencing missed collections to report them to Kingston Council.

“At the end of 2023, we rolled out a new electric fleet to deliver recycling, waste and food waste collections, reducing emissions and improving air quality across the borough. As part of this we also adapted our collection rounds to ensure they are as energy efficient as possible.

“We are working hard to ensure that the new vehicles and services are operating as they should and are resolving any issues that have occurred as we roll out the service changes. We apologise to any residents who have experienced a missed collection, which can be reported via kingston.gov.uk/missedbincollection.”
