Wandsworth Council is cracking down on lorries using roads where they are not allowed, after residents raised concerns about safety.

Heavy goods vehicle drivers caught breaking weight limits face £160 fines, with CCTV checks being stepped up across the borough.

The action focuses on streets in areas including Southfields, Putney, Earlsfield, Battersea and Tooting.

The council says the move will help protect roads, parked cars and residents while still allowing necessary deliveries.
