There are now calls to introduce the same rights to victims in England.

The campaign is being led by Lib Dem Richmond Park MP, Sarah Olney

It’s after her constituent, Juliana Terlizzi, was charged over £7,000 to view the transcript of the trial of her rapist.

Conservative ministers have agreed to a one-year pilot scheme.

This will allow victims of rape and serious sexual offences to request a copy of the judge’s sentencing remarks.

Ms Olney says this doesn’t go far enough and the scheme here should match the Scottish one.
