Two schools in Hersham were locked down yesterday following reports of a person carrying a knife in the area.

Officers say enquires are ongoing to establish what happened in Bell Farm Lane yesterday afternoon.

There were no reports of any injuries and police want to reassure people they are treating the incident as a priority.

Three Rivers Academy and Bell Farm Primary School implemented lockdown procedures as a precaution.
