The former cricketer was hospitalised following the accident at the Dunsfold Airfield near Guildford in December 2022.
Paul Rees, who was The Stig from 2019 to 2022, was sitting beside him on the day.
He told the Sun newspaper he thought they wouldn’t make it out alive.
