The tragedy is known as the “first raid” on the town and preceded The Blitz which took hold of London in September 1940.
It’s thought 50 people died and more than 1,300 homes were devastated.
A special public talk will be held at New Malden Baptist Church, which was itself badly damaged, in Westbury Road at 7pm.
