Today is Small Business Saturday – an international day recognising the effort of small businesses.

Merton Council is encouraging locals to get involved and celebrate local businesses and the people that run them, such as Three Apes Coffee in Raynes Park.

The campaign was founded by American Express back in 2010 in the USA.

You can get involved by swapping large chains for independent businesses and use the hashtag #SmallBizSatUK online.
