Nearly 10,000 people across Surrey, Kent and Sussex, including schools, are taking part in online heart awareness sessions.

They are being hosted by critical care doctors and paramedics from the three counties’ Air Ambulance.

An average of 22 people each day suffer a cardiac arrest out of a hospital in the South East.

The overall survival rate last year for this group was around 11%.

The survival rate falls by up to 10% for every minute a patient doesn’t receive CPR or defibrillation.
