PC Samuel Goard and PC George Garner were also threatened with a gun by James Boyle one night in June 2022.
They returned to work the following day and helped secure his conviction, which led to a 16-year prison sentence.
The pair have now been nominated for a Police Federation award, the winners of which will be announced on July the 11th.
