The Victorians’ morbid fascination with death is to be explored in a series of free events across Surrey.

They are being run by the University of Surrey and the Surrey Arts and Humanities Network.  

A tour of the London Necropolis Railway near Woking and a craft afternoon at the Watts Gallery are among the events scheduled.

The stories behind Victorian gravestones, mourning traditions and spiritualist experiments in art and writing will also be revealed.
