With a population of just over 8,500 people, it was chosen for the programme because of concerns about its deprivation and the risks climate change poses to those living and working in the ward.
The hope is that it will see homes insulated, green spaces improved, and schools made more energy efficient.
This should see further benefits, from green jobs to cleaner air, while also addressing some of the area’s social inequalities.
