The leader of the Liberal Democrats and MP for Kingston and Surbiton has categorically ruled out making an election pact with the Conservatives – but wouldn’t do the same when asked about Labour:

He’s hinted he’d abandon a longstanding pledge to put a penny on income tax in order to attract traditional Tory supporters.

He’s instead suggested he’d hike levies on banks and large companies.
