The co-director of Surrey’s Global Centre for Clean Air Research at Surrey University has been addressing Parliament.

Professor Prashant Kumar has emphasised the importance of placing trees correctly based on evidence from the university.

He’s said ““If you put trees all over London, the difference would be negligible “without considering size, location and shape of the trees”.

Strategically placing trees along roadsides “could reduce the exposure to nitrous oxides by more than half.”
