The BBC’s Dame Deborah James documentary ‘Bowelbabe: In Her Own Words’ has been nominated for a National Television Award.

It’s up for Best Authored Documentary.

The programme gave audiences an intimate look into Dame Deborah’s five year cancer journey before her death at the age of 40.

She lived with her husband and two children in Barnes and was  deputy head at a school in Staines before she was diagnosed.

Billed as “television’s biggest night of the year,” the NTAs are voted for by the public.

The winners will be announced at the ceremony hosted by Joel Dommett at The O2 on Tuesday, September the 5^th.
