Residents and drivers have complained about the situation on Kingston Hill at the junction of Derwent Avenue.
They say the pipe repeatedly bursts which means traffic restrictions have to be put into place along the busy route each time.
Richmond Park’s MP, Sarah Olney, has visited the site.
She says Thames Water is currently investigating whether it can re-route the pipe network away from Derwent Avenue.
