Sutton Council statement on ULEZ expansion ruling at the High Court.

Commenting on the outcome of the Judicial Review about the the extension of the Ultra Low Emissions Zone in all outer London boroughs, Councillor Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council, said:

“Whilst the High Court has ruled that the expansion of ULEZ is legal, it doesn’t make it fair.

“We have long been calling on the Mayor to delay the expansion.

“There’s still time for the Mayor to make the changes to the scheme Sutton has called for since last year: improve public transport, expand the vehicle scrappage scheme and delay the rollout until the cost of living crisis is over.

“We will continue to stand up for our residents to make sure they get a fair deal.”
