Sutton Council has met with Viridor after a power outage at the Beddington waste plant caused concern from residents.

It was the result of a UK Power Network fault late in the evening of Monday the 16th of October.

Those nearby say they are concerned about air quality if the plant shuts down unexpectedly.

But the council says it has reviewed the data from several monitors nearby and no unusual levels of pollutants have been recorded.
