Surrey’s Lib Dem MPs say they are no clearer on why local government reorganisation has been paused.

Housing secretary Angela Rayner has launched a review of the nationwide plans following new legal advice.

But the news comes too late for Surrey, which will be split into two new authorities, East and West, next April.

Epsom MP, Helen Maguire, says Ms Rayner needs to urgently clarify the situation.
