Surrey Fire and Rescue’s Chief officer says the service is more prepared for wildfires than ever before. Firefighters dealt with 553 such blazes in the county between 2022 and 2023. Their appliances have been used at over 13,000 hours worth of wildfire incidents in the last year alone.
