It’s the fourth time this summer temperatures have soared to heatwave levels.
Highs of 35 degrees Celsius are expected in the south-east today.
May’s heat record was broken at Kew Gardens, with a recording of 35.1 degrees Celsius.
The UK Health Security Agency warns of a risk to vulnerable groups, like the elderly.
People are being urged to stay cool, drink plenty of fluids and check on vulnerable people during the hot weather.
Those struggling in the heat should move somewhere cooler, remove excess clothing and cool their skin with water.
Cold packs wrapped in a cloth can also help lower body temperature and ease heat exhaustion.
