The site was closed in December 2019 after problems were found with its roof.
A tendering process to appoint a contractor for the rebuild returned a figure of £79.5million which was deemed too expensive.
Building work on a revised plan, at a cost of around £40million, should begin next year meaning it won’t be ready until around 2027.
