RNLI volunteers in Teddington have launched their lifeboat over 1,400 times in the last 24 years.

The figures have been released as part of celebrations to mark the national charity’s 200^th anniversary.

The Teddington station was created in 2002 following the Marchioness pleasure boat disaster where 51 people died.

Three others stations were also created on the Thames at Chiswick, Tower and Gravesend, but Teddington is run solely by volunteers.
