Richmond Council says the homelessness crisis is behind a proposal to increase council tax.

The authority says the rise is needed to address the significant impact it is having on budgets alongside social care costs.

Core council tax is proposed to increase by 2.99%, with a further 2% increase in the precept for Adult Social Care.

The authority says the impact of COVID and the high cost of living means it is seeing even more demand for services.
