Richmond Council is condemning proposals to release treated effluent into the River Crane.

The waterway forms part of a nature reserve as it runs through Twickenham, which is home to endangered water voles.

Hillingdon Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to discharge treated sewage from a cafe at Cranford Park.

Richmond Council has submitted an objection to the application.
