Richmond Council has confirmed it is providing additional funding to schools in the borough to support the expansion of free school meals.

This will take effect for all primary aged children from next month when they return to the classroom.

The cost of the meals is being funded by the Mayor of London for one year.

The extra council funding will ensure schools have the kitchen facilities needed to support the increased number of hot meals.
