Today marks 51 years since a carriage of the Big Dipper broke loose, resulting the deaths of five children and injuring 13 people.
The area’s MP, Wandsworth Council, and London’s Mayor expressed support for a permanent memorial on the 50th anniversary last year.
While a tree was planted last year, the area of the park is no longer accessible to the public, and no memorial has yet been installed.
