People across Hounslow have just three weeks to voice their opinions on extending HMO licenses.

A House in Multiple Occupation is a property rented out to at least three people who are not from the same household.

The Council’s additional licensing was introduced in 2020, but is due to come to an end this July.

It includes properties subdivided into self-contained flats or studios without appropriate building regulation approval.

HMOs are a vital source of housing, but they can bring serious challenges like overcrowding and poor living conditions.

The private rented sector is the fastest growing tenure in Hounslow.

Residents have until May the 21st to have their say via the council’s website.
