Parents and children can expect a safer walk to school after new zebra crossings were installed this week in Ashford and Walton on Thames.

The new crossings are outside St Michael’s Catholic Primary School in Ashford and the Walton Oak primary school.

They’re part of a three-million-pound initiative from Surrey County Council to encourage more youngsters to get fit by cycling or walking and avoid congestion on the roads.
