The aim of the project is to commemorate the borough’s important and historic people, places, events and buildings.
Applications to mark histories of LGBTQ, Black, Asian, female and working-class people are particularly being encouraged.
The council wants to celebrate those who are not covered by the traditional English Heritage Blue Plaque Scheme.
