A pilot carried out in Hammersmith has revealed just two in ten people acknowledge their bus driver when boarding.
To rectify this, simple signs encouraging people on buses to greet their driver have been installed across the borough.
They were installed on the driver cab doors and exit doors on over 150 buses across Hammersmith.
It’s led to 30% of passengers greeting the driver when entering the bus, compared to 23% on buses without signs.
The study was a collaboration between The University of Sussex, TfL and Neighbourly Lab.
