That’s according to a new report from High Speed Training, marking 15 years since the introduction of the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.
London had the lowest average rating in the study, as it did last year, with a score of 4.38.
However, the report noted that the capital has the most establishments by far, with almost 36,000 premises contributing.
The South West of the country has the highest average Food Hygiene rating in the UK, scoring 4.67 in the report.
